On May 28, 2026, I gave the valedictorian address at the Patrick Henry High School commencement in San Diego. I graduated first in a class of about seven hundred, and the stadium held more than four thousand people.
I had three minutes. I used them to talk about what our generation inherits: the parts of the world that work, the parts that don't, and why the honest answer is to build rather than to narrate the collapse. I also said the thing I was most nervous to say out loud: that the fear of failing in public is the quietest force shaping people my age, and that I feel it too.
I closed by promising to build in public, slowly and with mistakes, and said people could follow along at maxwellkeller.com. This site is me keeping that promise.
